Arroz ala Cubana

Does this look like a complete meal? Ground beef, fried plaintain bananas (yellow kind), fried egg on rice and grape tomatoes all in one plate.

I try to recreate this meal everytime I see the yellow plantain bananas at the grocery. It brings me memories of my childhood days when we always have fried bananas as a side dish as well as dessert.

It so easy to cook and assemble the ingredients. Start by sautéing the minced garlic and onions in vegetable oil. Add the ground beef. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add a tbsp of worchestire sauce and half a cup of raisins. Cover the pan and turn the stove to low. Cook the meat until most of the moisture has evaporated.

Cut the plantain bananas into 1/4 inch slices. Brown both sides of the sliced bananas in 1/2 cup of cooking oil. Drain excess oil. Set aside.

Fry an egg sunny side up for each serving. Measure newly cook rice into a small bowl or small cup. Turn over the molded rice on a plate and place the cooked egg on top. Spoon some of the meat mixture on the plate. Add some fried plantains and grape tomatoes on the side.
