My high school classmates and I decided to have an early dinner on one hot summer day in New York City. Nobu is one of the places you need to visit when you are in the Big Apple. However, since dining at Nobu requires reservation months in advance , we decided to go to Nobu Next Door. The place is owned by the same celebrity cook, Nobu and I was made to understand that menu is the same (with the same price, if not more).
Anyway, we had a wonderful evening enjoying good Japapense dishes that is really outstanding in all aspects. We had Rock Shrimp Tempura(the 1st picture) with Ponzu/Creamy Spicy Sauce and Sashimi Salad with Matsuhisa Dressing for our appetizers. Then we all had Broiled Black Cod with Miso (the 2nd picture) for our main entree. And for dessert, Ber had Bento Box - (the 3rd picture - a warm Valrhona chocolate souffle cake with shiso syrup, white chocolate sauce and green tea ice cream), Brad chose the Shiso Crépes (Filled with mascarpone cream and accompanied by yamamomo mascarpone ice cream) and I had something special not on the menu(roasted pineapple with vanilla ice cream and some kind of bread pudding).
