NOCHE BUENA

Noche Buena Meal - Eve of New Year's Day

Noche Buena Meal - Eve of New Year's Day

What do you usually eat for New Year's eve? My friend told me to cook anything and everything round. It has to be round because round objects represent money (coins). First thing that comes to my mind, when I was deciding what to cook is puto. What can be easier than a recipe with 5 ingredients? Next question is, what goes with puto? Should it be something round, just to have as much round food on the table? More money for the coming year...

Puto
2 cups Bisquick mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp mayonnaise

Mix ingredients in a bowl. Spoon mix to a mini-muffin pan brushed with butter/margarine. Place the muffin pan on a steamer for 10 min.

Variation: You can add strips of cheddar cheese or slices of itlog na maalat (salted eggs) on top.
